The Solar Research Division was registered in 1960 and at the same time became a continuing member of The International Solar Society.

Solar Research was one of the first to recognize the close relationship between the refrigeration industry and solar energy. It soon lead the way by introducing the phase change solar system in the mid 1970’s. Over this period of 40 years some important, and fundamental, information has been obtained.

The Solar Research Division did not leave with the phase out of the tax credits, and has produced improvements and a solar catalog every year since its first in 1975.
